Today, fruit carving is one of the most popular ways to turn a fruit dessert into a beautiful and original decoration of the festive table. Mastering this type of culinary art is quite simple - with imagination, patience and a sharp knife.

Orange carving

To cut a fragrant candlestick from an orange, you need one orange, a regular or special knife, a candle, a glass and a dry clove. First of all, you should decide on the pattern - for example, you can choose triangles, circles, semicircles or zigzags. Then you need to place the orange in a glass and plant a clove in a circle, placing it in the place where the glass and the orange touch. To make the orange look like a candlestick, you need to carefully cut off its top to match the diameter of the future candle. If you wish, you can add more carnation patterns, after which a candle is installed in the candlestick and it is ready to use.

An orange candlestick is not only a creative decoration - but also a wonderful natural scent for a room.

Also, with the help of carving from an orange, you can make a funny smile - for this you need to mark the orange peel with a knife or felt-tip pen, drawing a face with thin strokes. Then the "drawing" should be cut deeper, being careful not to touch the white layer under the skin and carefully remove the cut parts. The orange should have eyes and a laughing mouth - if you wish, you can cut out any other face using the same carving technology.

Apple carving

To cut leaves from an apple, you need to separate a thin piece from the fruit and give it the shape of an oval with slightly tapered ends. On one side of the future leaf, small almond-shaped depressions are cut out, which are mirrored on the inside of it. To make the decoration look realistic, the outer edge of the leaf should be carefully serrated with a knife. You can cut an unlimited number of leaves to create a composition.

If it is inconvenient to use a knife when creating carving, you can replace it with a small sharp peeler.

To create an apple flower, you need half a red apple (with a root), a cutting board, a sharp knife with a narrow blade, and a lemon. Seven small droplets are cut around the fruit and removed from the apple. Then, smaller droplets are cut out in them and displaced along their axis so that it looks like a double petal, on which the inner side of the cut is visible. The resulting petals are placed back on the apple, having smeared the cut points with freshly squeezed lemon juice before that, which will prevent the decoration from darkening quickly. The finished flower is placed on a dish with dessert and served at the table.
