Yellow tea is an incredibly popular drink in Egypt. The hospitable Egyptians strive to give this tasty and healthy broth to all tourists without exception.
Although the yellow healing drink from Egypt is usually called tea, the word broth is its most accurate characteristic, because it is made not from the leaves of the tea tree, but from the beans of hay fenugreek (in another way it is also called Shambhala, Chaman, Helba, Abish, camel grass, fenugreek) using special technologies.
From the history of yellow tea
Even Hippocrates, in his writings, told the world about the wonderful properties of fenugreek. However, tea from the beans of this plant began to be brewed much later, in China.
Until the 19th century, the technology of making tea was kept under seven locks. Only in the 1830s did the secret recipe leave the country and ended up in Russia, and after the Sino-Japanese War it spread throughout Europe and from there came to Egypt.
Now yellow tea is little known in Western Europe, which is more likely due to historical events. But, despite this, in Egypt, the cooking technology was widespread, and also found numerous additions.
Healing properties
Egyptian yellow tea is a unique cure for many diseases due to the composition of fenugreek. Doctors advise using it:
- as an antipyretic agent;
- for diseases of the respiratory system (bronchitis, sinusitis, sinusitis);
- as an expectorant;
- with a disease of the female reproductive organs;
- in case of violation of lactation in lactating women;
- with impotence;
- in the presence of kidney stones and gallbladder;
- as a diuretic;
- with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and cardiovascular system;
- as a remedy for fatigue and malaise.
And these are far from all areas of application of this wonderful drink.
Taste qualities of yellow tea
Yellow tea from Egypt destroys the stereotype "what is useful is not tasty", because its nutty taste and pleasant aroma make many people fall in love with it forever from the first try. It is better to drink such tea slightly cooled, and instead of sugar, put a spoonful of honey.
In addition, ginger and lemon are useful supplements. Some people brew tea in milk instead of water, this gives special taste characteristics to the drink.
Cooking method
There are many ways to make yellow tea. Perhaps the most common of these is the following. Pour the ground beans into a small container, pour 300 ml of water over them and boil for about 8 minutes. And in order to fully experience the unsurpassed aroma of yellow tea, you can dry and roast the beans before boiling.
