It is necessary

  • - any flour - 2.5 cups (350 g);
  • - granulated sugar - 7 tbsp. l.;
  • - frozen cherries - 1 package (250 g);
  • - sunflower oil - 85 ml (5 tbsp. l.);
  • - starch - 1 tbsp. l.;
  • - vanillin - 5 g;
  • - baking soda - on the tip of a knife;
  • - salt - on the tip of a knife;
  • - cold water - 6 tbsp. l. (110 g);
  • - icing sugar for decoration - 1 tbsp. l. (optional);
  • - baking dish.

Instructions

Step 1

Transfer the cherries from the freezer to the refrigerator a few hours before cooking and wait until they are completely defrosted. Remove the juice that will stand out during defrosting, and transfer the finished cherry to a bowl.

Step 2

Prepare a work surface on the table. Sift flour into a separate bowl, add salt, soda, 2 tablespoons of sugar and vanillin to it. Then add cold water and sunflower oil. Knead to a soft elastic dough. After that, cover the bowl with the lid and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Step 3

When the time is up, divide the dough into two unequal pieces and roll them out into layers. Grease a baking dish with any oil and put a larger layer in it (its edges should hang slightly).

Step 4

At this point, the cherry might have released some more juice. Drain it and add the remaining sugar and potato starch to it. Mix everything together and place in a mold on a layer of dough.

Step 5

Cover the filling with a second layer of dough (which should be about the size of a mold) and secure the edges. Coat the top of the workpiece with sunflower oil. Use a fork or a match to poke several holes on top so that steam can escape through them. After that, send the product to an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 35 minutes.

Step 6

Remove the finished cherry pie from the oven and serve immediately, cut into portions. It is best eaten hot with freshly brewed tea. If desired, sprinkle the top of the cake with powdered sugar.
