Chocolate came to Russia from South America. The ancient Indians prepared a ritual drink from it, and it was available only to a select few. Today, chocolate is valued just as highly, and not only for its unsurpassed taste, but also for its beneficial properties. This is the very rare case when it is tasty and healthy.
It is necessary
-
- cocoa powder - 4 tsp;
- milk - 2 tbsp.;
- brown sugar - 5 tsp;
- cayenne pepper - on the tip of a knife;
- a pair of crystals of sea salt.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose carefully cocoa powder, the taste of the finished product primarily depends on its quality. Carefully read the composition on the box, there should be no extraneous additives, only cocoa powder.
Step 2
Mix the cocoa powder and sugar thoroughly in a dry bowl. Cocoa has a tendency to be brewed in lumps, like lumps in semolina. To prevent this from happening, you need to very thoroughly stir the cocoa powder in the sugar until a uniform mixture is obtained.
Step 3
Pour milk into a small saucepan and heat without boiling. It is a well-known fact that it is better not to cook milk in an enamel bowl, it sticks to the bottom, spoils the enamel and gives the dish the taste of burnt milk. Better to use a stainless steel pot.
Step 4
Pour in the cocoa powder and sugar mixture in a thin stream with continuous stirring. Here you will see how well you mixed cocoa powder with sugar. Ideally, there should be no lumps of cocoa powder on the surface.
Step 5
Add a couple of sea salt crystals and a dash of cayenne pepper. A classic drink called "Hot Chocolate" should be with a hot pepper, otherwise it will be just cocoa. Cayenne can be substituted with other hot peppers such as chili. Sea salt will add a new dimension to hot chocolate. Remove the saucepan from the stove and let it brew for a few minutes.
