The classic gooseberry jam recipe
To make gooseberry jam according to the simplest recipe, you only need berries and sugar. For a kilogram of berries, 800 grams of sugar is enough. You can change the amount of sugar depending on the taste.
Peel the gooseberry berries of debris, twigs, rinse and pour into a dish suitable for cooking. Pour boiling water over so that it slightly covers them. Then boil the resulting mixture until the berries are completely soft. The liquid is then drained, and the gooseberries are mashed with a blender.
Heat the puree again and add sugar to it. Stir often - the mixture thickens quickly. Boil the mashed potatoes to the desired thickness, then lay out in sterilized, heated jars. Close the jars with lids.
