Sometimes in the markets you can see the so-called royal honey. Sellers claim that the white creamy product is bee honey with the addition of royal jelly, the very one that bees feed the larvae with. But is it really so, is there any royal honey?
What is royal jelly?
Royal jelly is a whitish substance with the consistency of liquid sour cream. It is secreted by young bees for feeding the larvae of drones, queens and bees. Royal jelly is a very valuable beekeeping product, it is rich in proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, amino acids, enzymes, organic substances, minerals and so on. Therefore, it restores the body after past illnesses, stresses, rejuvenates, affects the improvement of general well-being in general. The price of this miracle drug is high, 1 g of native (unprocessed) royal jelly costs about 200 rubles.
The truth about royal honey
Markets usually offer a whitish sweet product that smells like honey. Sellers assure that this color is due to the high content of royal jelly, even some traders are not afraid to say how much of it is in honey - from one fifth, sixth, seventh and so on. But even if this is so, then the price of honey with royal jelly will not be 800-1000 rubles per 1 kg, but tens of thousands of rubles.
If you make a simple calculation, you can easily verify this. One-seventh of royal jelly in bee honey is about 15%, which means that in 1 kg it will be at least 150 g. And if you multiply these same 150 g by 200 rubles (the average cost of royal jelly), you get a decent amount. That is why it is worth considering whether to buy this advertised product, which is sweet, attractive in appearance and smell, or not.
But in general, there is royal honey, of course, there will not be a lot of milk in it and the color of the product will not differ too much from ordinary honey. You need to buy such a useful elixir for all diseases at a proven apiary, preferably from a familiar beekeeper.
