Shrimps are great for salads, first and second courses, and can also be served as a separate dish. When properly cooked, they have tender meat and a delicious taste.
It is necessary
-
- raw shrimp;
- lemon;
- Bay leaf;
- cloves;
- black peppercorns;
- salt.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose shrimp. They are sold in two types: boiled-frozen and raw frozen. The latter differ in that they have a gray-green tint. Their head is greenish or brown. Both options are the norm. Most often, they sell raw royal or tiger, which are quite large in size.
Step 2
Pour clean water into a saucepan. The water should be about twice the volume of the shrimp. Place the pot over high heat and wait for the water to boil.
Step 3
Add half a lemon, cut into large wedges, one bay leaf, two cloves, and a few peppercorns to boiling water. Salt the water. You can increase or decrease the amount and variety of seasonings as desired. Shrimp absorbs aromas quite well, so rely on your taste. In addition to dry seasonings, you can add fresh dill or parsley.
Step 4
Dip the shrimp into the prepared broth. Reduce heat to low, cover the saucepan, leaving a small hole for steam to escape. During the cooking process, the shrimp must be mixed, but do it carefully, as they are quite fragile and may lose their integrity.
Step 5
Remove the pan from the heat after six to seven minutes (if you bought frozen shrimp, then you don't need to cook them at all - just put them in boiling water for two minutes). The finished shrimp will turn evenly pink and float to the surface. Throw them in a colander, wait until the liquid completely drains. Place the shrimp on a platter and drizzle with the juice from the remaining half of the lemon. Ready-made shrimp can be garnished with herbs.
