Everyone knows the taste of potatoes baked in ash. In this recipe, potatoes are also baked in coals, but with some nuances. It is cut in pieces here, which shortens the cooking time. Sour cream is added to the potatoes - this significantly improves the taste. The dish is obtained with the aroma of spices and fire, with a mild and bright taste.

It is necessary

  • For 6 people:
  • - dry seasonings (hops-suneli, for example) - 2/3 tsp;
  • - pepper - 1/3 tsp;
  • - salt - 1.5 tsp;
  • - sour cream - 200 g;
  • - potatoes - 3 kg.

Instructions

Step 1

Peel the potatoes, rinse them in water. Cut into small pieces and place in a large bowl. Pour in sour cream, add spices and salt. You can add 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce if desired. Mix everything well and place in a container with a tight-fitting lid.

Step 2

Prepare the coals for baking. The point is that they must be calcined, but without an open flame. Divide the potatoes into 4 pieces. Drain all the liquid from the potatoes first.

Step 3

Spread out the foil and arrange the potato pieces so that the pieces settle in one layer. Wrap the foil, wrap the potatoes in three layers. Rake the coals off to the side with something, put a roll of potatoes in the opening created and cover it with coals on top.

Step 4

Check readiness by piercing the foil with a knife. If the dish is soft and does not creak when pierced, then you can remove the packages from the fire.

Step 5

Mix the prepared potatoes with the sauce and serve the dish with, for example, a tomato-cucumber salad.
