Blueberries are a storehouse of vitamins and minerals. Such a berry should be present on the table not only in summer, but also in winter. It is very easy to save a berry for the winter; it is enough to cook it in your own juice without sugar.
It is necessary
900 g blueberries
Instructions
Step 1
Sort out blueberries, remove all debris and rotten berries. Pour blueberries into a basin and rinse well, preferably in several waters.
Step 2
Pour the washed blueberries with cold water and leave for half an hour. This time is quite enough for the midge from the berries (if there is one) and other obscene things to emerge.
Step 3
Sterilize the blueberry jars.
Step 4
After half an hour, drain the water from the berries, for this it is better to use a sieve.
Step 5
Transfer the berries to a clean kitchen towel or paper towels to help remove excess moisture from the blueberries. Leave the berries on for about 20-30 minutes.
Step 6
Use a wide and high pan for preparation. Pour blueberries into clean jars, put them in a saucepan. Pour water into the pot itself so that it reaches the hangers of the jars.
Step 7
Put a saucepan with jars of blueberries on the fire, after boiling, reduce the heat, sterilize the berries. The berries will decrease in volume, there will be less of them in jars. Add a new batch of berries.
Step 8
After the berries stop shrinking and the juice covers them, cover the jars with lids, sterilize for five minutes and remove from heat.
Step 9
Tighten the caps tightly. Wrap the jars in a towel and leave to cool. Store blueberries in their own juice, just like you would for jam.
