It is necessary

  • 1 kg of fresh strawberries;
  • 300 g sugar;
  • 1/3 tsp citric acid;
  • 2 jars of 0.5 liters.

Instructions

Step 1

Place strawberries in cool water for a couple of minutes. For this recipe, small, strong berries of about the same size are suitable.

Step 2

Stir the strawberries a little in water, and then put in a colander. Remove the stalks from the dried berries, put the berries in a deep saucepan or bowl.

Step 3

Cover the strawberries with sugar and shake the container a little. You do not need to stir so as not to damage the berries. It is best to leave the strawberries and sugar overnight, covering the dishes with gauze. During this time, the sugar should dissolve almost completely and a syrup is formed.

Step 4

In the morning, you need to put the strawberries in clean and sterilized jars, pour the syrup over the berries. Pour a little citric acid on top of each jar.

Step 5

Put a piece of cloth in a wide saucepan, pour water. Put jars of strawberries in syrup there, cover them with sterile lids. The water should cover the cans up to about the shoulders.

Step 6

Put the pan on the stove, wait for the water to boil, and then sterilize the workpieces for about 10 minutes over low heat. Then the jars of strawberries in their own juice must be removed from the water and immediately rolled up or twisted.

Step 7

Turn jars of strawberries upside down, cover with towels and leave until they cool completely.
