Traditionally, schnitzel is made from pork, beef or veal, but why not tuna? The taste of fried tuna is very similar to boiled pork, so the schnitzel from this fish is simply delicious! It can be served beautifully with a scoop of rice and a refreshing radish salad with yoghurt sauce.
It is necessary
- (for 2 servings)
- - 2-4 pieces of frozen tuna fillet;
- - an egg;
- - 1 tbsp. cream (15-20% fat);
- - 5-8 pieces of any bread or ready-made bread crumbs;
- - 120 g of rice;
- - 1 small green radish;
- - 1 small carrot;
- - 1 small apple;
- - 200 g of thick natural yoghurt without additives (preferably from cream);
- - 1 small fresh cucumber;
- - 1-2 tsp lemon juice;
- - a clove of garlic;
- - a sprig of dill;
- - a sprig of green basil;
- - a sprig of cilantro;
- - black and / or allspice (to taste);
- - salt (to taste);
- - vegetable oil for frying (unrefined sunflower oil is better, but olive oil is also suitable);
- - 10 g butter.
Instructions
Step 1
Remove the fish fillets from the freezer and place on the table to defrost.
Step 2
Cut the bread into small pieces, put on a baking sheet covered with baking paper, put in the oven at a temperature of 110-130 ° C. When the rusks are ready, cool, transfer to a blender bowl and pulsate for schnitzels.
Step 3
Blot the pieces of fish with a napkin, salt and pepper, lightly pour with lemon juice. Let stand for 10 minutes.
Step 4
Wash the egg, break into a bowl and stir in the cream (no whipping). Dip a piece of fish and bread. Do the same with the others.
Step 5
Rinse the rice well in several waters and boil until tender, but do not boil it.
Step 6
Prepare a salad dressing.
Wash the cucumber and peel the green skin. Grate on the finest grater, add yogurt, lemon juice, mix. Wash and dry the herbs. Peel the garlic, crush with a knife and chop very finely together with the herbs. Add to dressing, salt, pepper, stir.
Step 7
Wash the radish, peel, cut into thin strips. Wash the carrots, peel and grate. Peel the apple, grate on a coarse grater. Mix everything. You can add the dressing immediately, pour the salad on it already in the plates or serve it separately (at your discretion).
Step 8
Heat the pan slightly, add vegetable oil, add butter, stir, increase heat. Place the schnitzels and fry on each side for 2-3 minutes, depending on the desired degree of doneness.
Step 9
Place the rice on bowls and shape into a ball (or whatever). Place the salad and schnitzel next to it. Since tuna tastes like boiled pork, you can use any ready-made gravy or sauce that is suitable for meat if desired. Additionally, you can serve pickled cucumber cut into circles, cherry tomatoes.
