It is necessary

    • orange peel (500 g);
    • sugar (600 g);
    • water (1 l);
    • icing sugar (200 g);
    • citric acid (1 tsp).

Instructions

Step 1

Peel the oranges. Carefully cut the peel into four to six petals, place them in a bowl of cold water and keep there for about three days.

Step 2

Change the water to fresh water three times a day, drain the old one.

Step 3

At the end of this period, boil the peels in new water. Let them boil for about fifteen minutes. Then fold in a colander.

Step 4

Stir the sugar syrup in a bowl separately. To do this, take one liter of water and six hundred grams of sugar for five hundred grams of orange peels. Bring the sugar and water to a boil. Cut the crusts into cubes, stripes, or whatever else you want.

Step 5

Simmer until the syrup has boiled down and thickens. Stir, count to five, and immediately remove the dishes from the heat. Leave it on for six hours.

Step 6

After the syrup with the crusts, put it back on the stove, bring to a boil and continue to cook for about five minutes. Take away and do not touch again for about twelve hours. Then put it back on fire again.

Step 7

When the candied fruit is cooked for the last time, add citric acid to the syrup. Remove from heat. Let stand for three hours. Then discard the syrup with candied fruits in a colander and wait until all the liquid drains from them.

Step 8

Prepare a wide, flat dish with a thin layer of powdered sugar on the bottom. Separately prepare a saucer with powdered sugar. When the ready-made orange peels are well cooled, roll each in powdered sugar and place on a flat dish so that the slices lie apart from each other.

Step 9

After the orange slices are completely dry, put them in a glass jar, cover the top with parchment, tie and put in a dry place.
