It is necessary

  • - Coconut;
  • - a hammer;
  • - knife;
  • - glass;
  • - a cocktail tube.

Instructions

Step 1

To open a coconut, you do not need to cut it, it still will not work - the nut is too hard. It must be split by taking out its juice before doing it. Place the coconut on a flat surface such as a table. At one end of the coconut, in the area of the dark eyes, of which there are three on this nut, the shell is thinnest, so it is easier to pierce it. Take a sharp object, preferably a knife or corkscrew (nail clippers can be used), and punch two holes in this area. The two holes make it easier to drain the juice, since the second hole fills the coconut with air.

Step 2

Take a cocktail straw and use it to pour the coconut juice into the glass. You can drink juice directly from the coconut using a straw by inserting it into one of the holes. If you don't have a straw, you can pour out the juice without it. Place the coconut on the glass with the holes at the bottom. The juice will pour into the glass. Coconut juice should be drunk immediately, as it quickly turns sour.

Step 3

There are several ways to open a coconut, they differ in accuracy and aesthetics. If you don't care about the aesthetics of breaking a coconut, you can simply hit it on the asphalt or other hard surface. But there is also a more beautiful way.

Step 4

Take a small hammer or knife. Holding the fruit with your left hand in weight, hit several times with a hammer or the blunt end of a knife at the weakest point of the coconut: a third of the distance from the dark eyes to the other end. Rotate a little coconut each time you hit. After a few blows, a crack will appear, into which you need to insert a knife and use it to split the coconut to the end. If the coconut is not kept by weight, the flesh will not move away from the shell and it will be more difficult to achieve cracks in the shell. When the coconut is split, the thin brown shells can be easily removed from the pulp. Be careful with the shell; it may have sharp edges.

Step 5

If the coconut doesn't crack, try tapping all over the surface. Soon it will break into two halves. If this does not help, then you need to act more decisively. You can place the coconut in a plastic bag or wrap it in a towel and hit it hard with a hammer on a firm, secure surface. It will turn out not very aesthetically pleasing, but the coconut will crack. It remains to get the pieces of the fruit out of the bag and separate the shell from the pulp. The pulp can be cut into pieces and eaten as it is.
