It has long been so customary in Russia that not a single meal was complete without lush and fragrant pies. Today, homemade cakes are also associated with coziness for many. Various types of dough are suitable for pies, but cooked with kefir it turns out to be very tender and soft, literally melting in your mouth.

How to make dough with kefir

To make a dough on kefir for cabbage pie, you need to take the following components:

- ½ l of kefir;

- 200 g creamy margarine;

- 2 eggs;

- 2 tbsp. l. granulated sugar;

- 600 g flour;

- ½ tsp. baking soda;

- salt.

Remove the margarine from the refrigerator in advance so that it has time to soften. If there is no time to wait, you can slightly reheat it in the microwave. Sift the flour through a sieve.

Combine eggs with kefir and mix thoroughly with a whisk until smooth. Add soda, granulated sugar and salt to the kefir-egg mixture. Continue whisking lightly and gradually add wheat flour. When the dough becomes elastic and resembles yeast in consistency, knead it well with your hands. Then add softened margarine and stir into the dough.

Form a bun out of the prepared dough, transfer it to a deep bowl, cover with a napkin and place in a cool place for 30 minutes.

Cabbage pie filling

To prepare the cabbage pie filling you will need:

- 300-350 g of white cabbage;

- 3-4 eggs;

- 2-3 small carrots;

- 2-3 small heads of onions;

- 40-50 g of sugar;

- salt;

- vegetable oil.

Peel the onions, chop finely and fry in vegetable oil. Hard-boiled eggs, cool, peel and chop with a knife. Peel the carrots, wash and chop together with the white cabbage. Combine all the ingredients, add sugar and salt to taste, then mix well.

Divide the prepared dough into 2 unequal parts and roll out on a floured work surface. Leave a small amount of dough to decorate the cake if desired. Transfer a large flatbread to a greased baking sheet. Top with the cabbage filling and cover with a second flatbread. Shape into a cake, pinch the edges.

Roll up flagella from the set aside dough or make leaves and flowers and decorate the surface of the cake with them. Then grease everything with beaten egg yolk and place in an oven preheated to 200 ° C for half an hour until cooked.

The yogurt pie stuffed with cabbage and mushrooms is very tasty. It will require:

- 1 small head of cabbage;

- 2 tbsp. l. boiled mushrooms;

- 2 boiled eggs;

- condiments;

- salt;

- vegetable oil.

Finely chop the cabbage and place in a frying pan with heated vegetable oil. While stirring, simmer the cabbage until soft over low heat. Add seasonings as desired. Add finely chopped boiled mushrooms and chopped eggs. Mix all components thoroughly and cool the prepared filling.
