Now it's time to tackle the tomatoes. You need the pulp, so the fruit needs to be peeled. This is easier than it seems at first. Use a sharp knife to lightly cut the top of the tomato in a crisscross pattern. Pour boiling water over the fruit from a teapot or put it in a boiling pot for a few seconds (15-20). Then immediately transfer the tomato to cold water (the colder the better). Peel the cooled tomato from the skin by peeling it off with a knife from the incisions. After removing the skins, cut the tomatoes into medium-sized cubes.

Peel the onion and chop finely. Here you can also use a chopper - both mechanical and electric (blender). But try not to turn your onion into gruel if you decide not to cut it by hand. Red sweet onions are good for salads. Such onions can not be chopped very much, but cut into thin half rings.

Step 4

Line the bottom and sides of the salad bowl with lettuce and basil leaves. Combine tomatoes, nuts, chopped onions in a prepared bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste and stir gently.

Put the prepared salad in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours so that the mixture is well infused. Stir gently again, sprinkle with herbs and serve. Parsley and / or basil are well suited as greens - it is better not to cut them with a knife, but pick them with your hands. Such a salad should not remain on the table for a long time - it is better to eat it quickly, until the tomatoes flowed and ruined the appearance of the dish.
