Instructions
Step 1
Red
For sweet dishes, use mashed red berries such as strawberries, raspberries, and cranberries for a red hue. Concentrated cherry or pomegranate juice gives a beautiful rich red color. Beetroot juice works well for coloring any food. Since even one drop of it can color a large amount of food, start adding it a little at a time. It is not difficult to get beet juice without a juicer - just grate a little beet, put it in cheesecloth and squeeze it gently.
Step 2
Orange
An easy way to get some orange dye is to use carrot juice. If you don't like carrots, use mangoes.
Step 3
Yellow
Yellow food coloring can be obtained with saffron or turmeric. Saffron is a very expensive spice, but even a tiny pinch of it can add a surprisingly sunny hue to your dough. For baking, it is best to use a little saffron alcohol. Fresh turmeric has a clear and piercing aroma, but expired turmeric will not give the dish either taste or smell, but only color. At the same time, it will remain the same harmless to health. If you don't have these spices on hand, look for yellow bell peppers in the refrigerator. Its juice is also capable of coloring food, but not as intense colors.
Step 4
Green
Spinach and avocado are two favorites for green food coloring. Blanch a small amount of fresh spinach in hot, boiling water for a few seconds. Dip it in a container of cold water to interrupt the heating process. Use a food processor or blender to puree the spinach and add to food. Avocado puree is good for sweet dishes.
Step 5
Purple
Blueberry juice and purple cabbage give food a lovely reddish purple hue. Blueberry juice can be obtained simply by squeezing a few berries through cheesecloth, but the cabbage will have to be boiled and used in the idea of the dye is the broth.
Step 6
Brown
The most popular food coloring for all kinds of cakes, pastries and muffins is cocoa.
