Several thousand years ago, tea was a drink of the aristocrats of China, it was used in the treatment of various diseases and even as an antidote for serious poisoning. Only many centuries later, it became a drink of ordinary people, but the traditions of its preparation ceremonially have been preserved in this amazing country to this day.
One of the first mentions of a tea drink dates back to the second millennium BC, and its author is the Chinese emperor, sage and healer Shen Nong. In his diaries, he describes an amazing tree, having tasted the leaves of which, he felt an extraordinary lightness and a surge of vigor. It was with the filing of Shen Nong that tea gained its popularity, he discovered many varieties of this tree and took the first steps in the formation of the ceremony of brewing and drinking the drink.
Since those ancient times, the invigorating drink has passed a thorny path, with ups and downs and even persecutions, when drinking it was equated with a crime or committing a terrible sin, but its healing properties and unique taste qualities returned it popularity and recognition again and again. It is impossible to give an unambiguous answer to the question of how to brew tea in Chinese, because there are many ways to make it.
Chinese tea making methods
Two types of tea brewing in Chinese have come down to our times and gained popularity, these are boiling and steaming. Making tea is like making Turkish coffee. The water for the drink must undergo repeated purification, settle, and only then can it be poured into the container for preparation. On low heat, the water must be brought to the state of "pre-boiling" twice, and only after that tea leaves can be dipped into it, and no more than 10 g of leaves are taken per liter. Before laying in water, the leaves must be thoroughly soaked in cold boiled water. The mass is not brought to a boil in any case, only simmer over low heat. An amazing sight is the preparation of tea by the brewing method by a real master from China - the surface of the water in a special container does not boil or soar, but as if it trembles, releasing threads of bubbles from the bottom of the dish.
The second way of making Chinese tea is steaming. The water, as in the first case, is being purified, but it is already brought to a real boil and drained into a thermos. Real Chinese tea should be prepared in a special clay container that is never washed inside to preserve the tea plaque that gives it a special taste. It can only be doused with hot water to heat it before brewing tea. For a volume of water up to 400 g, 8-10 g of good quality tea leaves are enough. Time for brewing a drink is 10-15 minutes.
Chinese Tea Drinking Ceremony
The Chinese are a leisurely, judicious and wise people, approaching any business with the utmost seriousness. Unlike Europeans and Americans, for the people of this country, tea is a way to relax, turn your thoughts into yourself, calm down and rejuvenate. Tea drinking takes place, as a rule, in silence, without fuss and rush. Drinking tea "on the go", as is customary in the modern world, is considered bad form and is unacceptable in a decent society in China.
