These delicious berry and orange cream brownies have a flaky, crunchy dough. The delicate cream perfectly balances sour berries with its sweetness. The only drawback of this dish is the elastic dough, which delaminates into plates.

It is necessary

  • For the cream:
  • - flour - 1 tsp;
  • - orange juice - 125 g;
  • - sugar - 50 g;
  • - egg - 1 pc.
  • For the basics:
  • - fresh berries - 200 g;
  • - puff pastry - 250 g.

Instructions

Step 1

Roll out the puff pastry into a square, close to 18 by 18 centimeters. It will be easier if you buy the dough that has already been rolled into plates of the correct size.

Step 2

Place the dough on baking paper. Cut it into four equal pieces. Cutting will be much easier with a round pizza knife.

Step 3

Use a small, sharp knife to make square cuts. At the same time, retreat from the edge of 0.5 centimeters. The cuts should not be made to the full depth, but only to two-thirds of the thickness of the workpieces. Cut the corners carefully.

Step 4

Put the dough together with the paper on a baking sheet and place in an oven preheated to 200oC for 30 minutes.

Step 5

Wait for the dough to rise four times and brown. Remove the preforms from the oven and cool to room temperature. Use your finger or a small spoon to push down the middle of the blanks, thus making a kind of basket. You can remove the inner square of the dough if you want, and not press it.

Step 6

While the blanks are baked and cooled, prepare the cream. At low speed, beat flour, sugar and egg with a mixer. Pour in the juice and mix well.

Step 7

Pour the mass into a small saucepan. Put on medium heat and, stirring constantly, bring to a thick state. Cool the cream to room temperature and place it in the baskets previously made from the dough.

Step 8

Let the orange cream and berry brownies sit for 30 minutes to soften the dough. Place fresh berries on top of the cream and serve immediately so that the sliced berries do not juice yet.
