There are many recipes for making onion soup. It differs from other soups in its unique taste and ease of preparation. The soup is very nutritious and easy on the stomach.

- - Beef broth - 2 l
- - Wine (white, dry) - 250 ml
- - Garlic - 2-3 cloves
- - Baguette - 8-10 pieces
- - Gruyere cheese - 150 g
- - Vegetable oil - 1 tbsp. the spoon
- - Butter - 50 g
- - Salt, pepper, thyme - to taste.
Instructions
Step 1
Peel, wash and chop the onion. If you wish, you can add leeks, in which case it also needs to be finely chopped.
Step 2
Peel the garlic and crush it with the flat side of a knife. This method is needed so that the taste of the garlic is more pronounced, and it will be even easier to chop it. After crushed the garlic, chop it finely.
Step 3
Put in a frying pan, pour in oil (preferably olive) and add butter.

After the pan is hot, place the red onions and leeks on top of it (if you decide to do with it). Cook over low heat, about 25-30 minutes. Then add garlic, thyme, wine and broth.

For the final preparation, let the soup boil, then reduce the heat and cook, covered with a lid for another 20-30 minutes.

Pour into plates, put 1-2 toasts on top and sprinkle with cheese. And for those who love a cheese crust, you can send the soup to the oven for a short time so that the cheese on top has time to bake slightly.
