Borscht is one of the most famous and favorite dishes of most of our men. Therefore, every decent housewife knows how to cook it and everyone, for sure, has their own, special recipe.
Ingredients:
- Half a small head of cabbage;
- 450 g of beef (veal);
- Onion and carrot - 1 pc each;
- 5 potato tubers;
- 1 beet;
- 3 tbsp. l. tomato paste;
- 120 g lard;
- 1 tbsp. l. sunflower oil;
- 3 cloves of garlic;
- Half a bell pepper;
- Salt, pepper to taste.
Preparation:
- Rinse the beef (veal), cut into pieces, send to a saucepan and pour water into it. Until it boils, the fire must be strong. When the broth boils, foam will appear on it, it must be carefully removed. After boiling, leave on the stove for an hour, reducing the heat.
- In the meantime, let's prepare other ingredients for our borscht. Wash and peel all vegetables. Cut the potatoes into small pieces. Add to meat after half an hour.
- Heat a frying pan with sunflower oil, bring the pre-chopped onion until golden brown.
- Add the beets and carrots, grated with large holes, to the onion, mix and simmer them together. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring.
- Now add tomato paste (if there are fresh tomatoes, you can add them in advance by peeling and wiping). Salt and pepper the dressing.
- Add a ladle of broth to the dressing, stir and keep in a pan for another 6 minutes. Add the prepared dressing to a saucepan with almost ready-made meat.
- Finely chop the cabbage and cut the bell pepper into small cubes, add everything to the borscht. Cook for 15 minutes.
- Cut the bacon into small pieces, chop the garlic too. Combine them and beat with a hand blender. Add to borscht and stir.
- We taste borscht, bring it to taste. When serving, you can put a spoonful of sour cream or sprinkle with herbs.
