In Russia, bread has long been the staple food that helped the peasants survive in difficult times. Today, it is also consumed in large quantities, despite the advice of nutritionists and doctors recommending to refuse it. The latter justify this by the fact that there are practically no useful substances in modern rolls, but there is more than enough chemistry.
Reasons to give up bread
It is no coincidence that wheat bread is recognized as the most harmful to health. If earlier such a product was baked from gray flour (a natural shade of ground wheat grain), today only white flour is used for its preparation.
The latter is obtained due to the fact that during the grinding process the grain of wheat is divided into a shell, an embryo and a starchy endosperm. All nutrients, vitamins and microelements are found in the embryo and shell, which are fed to livestock. And for the production of flour, only endosperm is used, which does not contain anything of value. The resulting product is additionally subjected to bleaching with chemicals and saturated with synthetic vitamins. It is from such wheat flour that bread is baked today.
It is not surprising that this product does not have any positive effects on human health. In addition, it has a high calorie content and rather poor absorption, so its consumption in large quantities often negatively affects the figure and health in general.
As for black bread, it contains much more natural vitamins and microelements, and its calorie content is slightly less. But due to the increased acidity due to the protection of such a product from mold, it is not recommended to eat it for those who suffer from gastrointestinal diseases. Plus, 100% rye bread is very heavy for daily consumption. And it has not been released in this form since the 90s. Modern rye bread always contains a certain percentage of wheat flour.
What bread is considered healthy
Of all types of bread, the most useful for human health is the one made from whole grains with the addition of bran, caraway seeds, and nuts. It contains a lot of vitamins and microelements necessary for the body, as well as fiber, which has a beneficial effect on the digestion process.
It is also healthier to eat daily bread, preferably a little dried. Such a product is not for nothing that doctors recommend to those who suffer from various diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. The fact is that after removing the roll from the oven, fermentation processes will take place in it for several more hours. This is why eating a warm piece of bread will be much more difficult for the stomach to digest and can cause boiling and flatulence.
