We bring to your attention an unusual recipe for potato casserole with juicy meatballs and spices. Note that a delicious addition in the form of tomatoes, cheese and herbs is attached to the recipe, which is added to the dish only if desired.
Ingredients:
- 0.5 kg minced pork;
- 5 potatoes;
- 1 onion;
- 2 carrots;
- 4 tbsp. l. turmeric;
- 2 eggs;
- 6 tsp spices;
- 2 tsp salt;
- 4-8 st. l. mayonnaise;
- 3-5 tsp mustard;
- sunflower oil for frying;
- 2-3 tomatoes (optional);
- hard cheese (optional);
- a couple of sprigs of parsley (optional).
Preparation:
- Finely chop the onion with a knife, grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
- Heat sunflower oil in a skillet. Put the onion in oil and fry until half cooked. Then add carrots and turmeric to the onion, mix everything thoroughly and fry until tender.
- Peel and grate the potatoes. Squeeze the potato pulp with your hands a little, removing excess juice, and transfer to a bowl.
- Drive eggs there, add vegetable frying, salt, your favorite spices, as well as mustard and mayonnaise to taste. Mix everything thoroughly until smooth. If you need a spicier dish, then the amount of pepper and mustard can be increased.
- Take a baking sheet or baking dish with high sides. Put the potato mass in one layer on the bottom of the mold and smooth it with a spoon.
- Mash the minced meat, season with salt and pepper to taste, mix.
- Form small meatballs from minced pork and place them evenly over the potato layer. It is recommended to make meatballs with wet hands, so they are easier to form and do not stick to your hands.
- Send the completed form to the oven preheated to 195 degrees.
- Bake the contents of the form until all ingredients are cooked.
- If desired, at the end of cooking, you can put tomato slices and parsley leaves between the meatballs. Pour the entire contents of the form with grated hard cheese and send it back to the oven for 10-15 minutes.
- After a quarter of an hour, remove the meatballs in the casserole from the oven and serve directly in the baking dish.
