The Latin name for acid is oxalis, which literally translates as "sour". This name successfully characterizes its gustatory characteristics - a sour taste. And also oxalis has healing properties, therefore it is widely used in folk medicine.
The use of acid
Broths and infusions based on acid is recommended to be taken in the treatment of scurvy, elimination of worms and toxins from the body, overweight, metabolic disorders, malfunctions of the digestive and cardiovascular systems, etc. Although there are contraindications: people with low acidity, blood clotting disorders, diathesis and gout need to be more careful with this medicinal plant.
Oxalis is rich in vitamin C, therefore it effectively fights against colds.
In order to cook a decoction of sour soup at home, you need to take 1 tsp. dried herbs, pour 100 ml of boiling water over it and put on low heat for 10-12 minutes. When the broth has cooled, it should be filtered and diluted with boiling water to 100 ml. This healing tea is recommended to drink for stomach cancer three times a day, 70-80 ml with meals. Also, this medicine is used for washing wounds and abrasions, gargling, etc.
In its raw form, sour cherry is used to treat hypovitaminosis: juice is made from it (squeezed from the aerial part of the plant). The juice is recommended to be taken in 1 tablespoon, mixed with the same amount of natural honey. The same remedy is prescribed for the treatment of ulcerative stomatitis.
For compresses, you can prepare an infusion like this: 50 g of sour leaves should be poured into 450-500 ml of vodka and insisted in a dark cool place for 10 days. Then the solution must be filtered and rubbed into the affected area of the skin. For stomatitis, the solution is diluted with boiled cool water (ratio 1: 1) and rinsed every 3-4 hours.
Features of the reproduction of acid
In its natural habitat, oxalis grows under trees in shady mixed forests, but at the same time, this plant can be grown at home. To do this, you need to know the ways of reproduction of acid.
The plant spreads very quickly: soon it will fill the entire area.
If the plant is propagated by tubers (they are formed at the taproot), they are planted in pots, covered with earth on top and watered. It is recommended to plant no more than 10 tubers in one pot.
In addition, oxalis reproduces by leaves. In this case, the leaves with small cuttings are cut off and placed in a container of water. As soon as the root appears, the sour cherry is planted in a flowerpot.
The process of reproduction of acid by seeds looks like this: the seeds are sown on the ground, without sprinkling them with soil, and must be moistened by spraying (in no case, the seeds cannot be watered from above with a stream, only spraying). After a few days, the seeds will sprout.
