If you do not know what dish to surprise guests or households with a minimum of time and effort, try cooking chicken in sweet and sour sauce.
It is necessary
- - chicken carcass - 1 piece
- - soy sauce - 70 ml
- - honey - 1 tsp.
- - salt - to taste
- - ground paprika - 1 tsp
- - ground red pepper - 1/3 tsp.
- - ground black pepper - 1/3 tsp.
- - turmeric - 1 tsp
- - sumac - 1 tsp
- - water - 0.5 l
Instructions
Step 1
Take a gutted chicken, rinse and dry. Divide into portions or simply cut into several portions convenient for frying.
Step 2
Place the chicken in a dry deep skillet, cover and fry over high heat until golden brown. Turn the pieces over and repeat the process on the other side.
Remove from the pan and brush with sauce while the next portions are cooking. When all the meat is browned and oiled, put the meat back in the same skillet and brown quickly on both sides.
Step 3
Transfer the prepared pieces to a cauldron or a thick-walled saucepan. Pour the remaining sauce in the pan mixed with the melted chicken fat. Cover with hot water and bring to a boil over high heat.
Step 4
Now reduce heat to very low and simmer the meat with a lid on for 15 or 20 minutes. At the end of this time, the meat should be soft and easily detach from the bone. The whole process of cooking chicken in sweet and sour sauce will take no more than half an hour, provided that young chicken meat is used.
Step 5
To prepare the sauce, pour soy sauce into a cup, add all the spices, salt, honey and stir thoroughly to dissolve the honey completely.
