It is believed that the word "steak" comes from Old Norse and is translated as "fry". It is a thick piece of meat cut from the carcass across the grain. Traditionally, steaks were made from beef, but pork is widely used in Russia, the dishes from which are easier to prepare, and they are softer and juicier.
Pork steak in batter
To cook steaks in batter you will need:
- 2 steaks;
- ½ lemon;
- 50 g of dill greens;
- pepper;
- salt.
For batter:
- 50 g of beer;
- 1 egg;
- 20 g flour.
Wash pork steaks, dry and beat off with a wooden mallet (it is convenient to do this through a plastic bag). Then sprinkle with freshly squeezed lemon juice, pepper and sprinkle with seasonings to taste (dry Provencal herbs, rosemary, thyme).
Prepare the batter. To do this, beat an egg into a bowl, pour in beer and add wheat flour. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until smooth.
Wash the dill greens well, pat dry on a paper towel and chop finely. Dip the steaks in chopped greens, then dip in the prepared batter and fry on both sides in a pan in well-heated vegetable oil over high heat. Determine the readiness of the pork by piercing the steak with a knife (the meat juice that stands out should be transparent).
Steak with cheese recipe
Pork steaks can not only be fried in a pan, but also baked in the oven. This will require:
- 4 pork steaks;
- 1 onion;
- 200 g of cheese;
- 1 liter of tomato juice;
- vegetable oil;
- white cabbage leaves;
- greens;
- pepper;
- salt.
Wash the steaks, dry and beat on 2 sides. Finely chop the onions and dill or parsley, pour over with tomato juice and mix well. Put the meat in the resulting marinade and refrigerate for 24 hours.
Then grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil and cover with cabbage leaves. Place pieces of marinated meat on them (without peeling off the marinade), sprinkle them with salt and pepper. Place in an oven preheated to a temperature of 220 ° C for 15-20 minutes. Then turn the steaks over to the other side, pour over the remaining marinade, sprinkle with grated cheese and bake for another 15 minutes until tender.
How to cook a steak in a slow cooker
To cook pork steak in a slow cooker, you need to take:
- 2 pork steaks (can be on the bone);
- 1 glass of milk;
- 1 tsp. salt;
- 1 tsp. granulated sugar;
- 1 tsp. ground pepper;
- 1 tbsp. l. vegetable oil;
- 3 tbsp. l. flour;
- 1 egg.
Rinse the steaks, dry and beat well with a wooden mallet. Combine granulated sugar, salt, black pepper and rub the prepared steaks with the mixture. Place the meat in a deep plate, cover with milk and leave for 3 hours.
Then pour the wheat flour into one plate and break the egg into the other and beat it lightly with a fork.
Pour vegetable oil into a removable multicooker bowl. Set the baking mode on the control panel and set the time on the timer to 25 minutes.
Season the steaks first in flour and then dip them in a beaten egg. After about 5 minutes, when the bowl heats up, put the steaks into it. Leave the lid on the multicooker and cook the pork chops for 10 minutes on each side.
