Gingerbread Man Cookies are a delicious treat that is incredibly popular around Christmas in homes with small children. You can make these cookies at home in just 20 minutes.
It is necessary
- - 100 grams of butter;
- - 100 grams of sugar;
- - 1/2 cup of liquid honey;
- - two glasses of flour;
- - egg yolk;
- - 1/2 teaspoon of salt;
- - 1/2 teaspoon baking powder;
- - 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda;
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- - a teaspoon of ginger.
- For glaze:
- - a glass of powdered sugar;
- - two tablespoons of fresh milk.
Instructions
Step 1
Put the butter in a deep dish, add sugar to it and grind everything well to get a homogeneous airy mass. Once the sugar is completely dissolved, put the honey and yolk in a dish and mix everything.
Step 2
Take another clean, dry bowl, sift flour into it, then add baking soda, salt, baking powder, nutmeg, ginger and cinnamon to the flour, mix everything.
Step 3
Mix the resulting mixture with the creamy honey paste, knead the dough. As a result, the dough should be very dense and elastic. Wrap it in plastic wrap (you can just put it in a plastic bag) and put it in the refrigerator for two hours.
Step 4
After the time has elapsed, remove the dough from the refrigerator, knead it well, then sprinkle the work surface with a small amount of flour and roll out the dough with a rolling pin to a thickness of 0.4-0.5 centimeters. Using special molds, cut out the figures of the gingerbread men. If there are no molds, then prepare a mold: draw a little man on cardboard and cut out a figure, then put the resulting mold on the rolled dough and cut out the figures with a sharp knife.
Step 5
Place the figurines on a dry, clean baking sheet and place in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. The oven temperature is 180 degrees.
Step 6
Put the hot cookies on a wire rack and let cool completely, then decorate the gingerbread men with icing sugar (powdered sugar mixed with milk). If desired, you can add food coloring to the glaze and decorate the figurines as you like.
