Margarine is an affordable alternative to butter and is a great base for homemade crumbly cookies. You can make baked goods from margarine with or without filling, give different shapes to the cookies. The main thing is to observe moderation during tasting, because the products are quite fatty and high-calorie.
Air cookies
These delicate cookies surprise you with the contrast between the dough melting in your mouth and the crispy sugar crust. The dough made with this recipe can be stored in the freezer for several days.
You will need:
- 3 glasses of wheat flour;
- 2 packs of creamy margarine;
- 1 glass of sour cream;
- sugar;
- 1 egg.
Grate frozen margarine or chop finely with a knife. Sift flour with a slide, make a depression in the center, put margarine and sour cream in it. Knead the dough, put it in a ball, wrap it in plastic foil and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Divide the dough into 4 parts. Roll one part on a floured board into a layer about 3 mm thick. Use a glass or small circular notch to cut out the cookie cutters. When the dough is finished, collect the cuttings into a ball and roll it out again. Do this for all portions of the dough.
Beat the egg and pour into a saucer. Pour a few tablespoons of granulated sugar into another saucer. Dip the dough into the egg and sugar, alternately. Place the cookies on a baking sheet with margarine. Place the baking sheet in an oven preheated to 200 ° C. Cook the cookies until they have a delicious golden crust, then remove from the baking sheet and refrigerate.
For a spicier taste, add some ground cinnamon to the sugar.
Homemade cottage cheese cookies
The biscuits turn out to be very satisfying - they can be served for an afternoon snack or breakfast, replacing traditional cottage cheese dishes with them.
You will need:
- 200 g soft cottage cheese;
- 200 g of wheat flour;
- 200 margarine;
- 0.5 cups of sugar;
- a pinch of vanillin;
- 2 eggs;
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda;
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice;
- powdered sugar for sprinkling.
Vanillin can be substituted with vanilla sugar or essence.
In a deep bowl, grind the cottage cheese with eggs, sugar, vanilla and soda, slaked with lemon juice. Add softened margarine, mix thoroughly, and then add sifted flour in portions. Knead a soft dough and roll it into a layer on a floured board. Cut out the circles with a glass. Place half a teaspoon of sugar in the middle of each. Fold the cake in half and again in half so that it looks like a petal.
Arrange the cookie cutters on a baking sheet greased with margarine and sprinkled with flour. Do not stack them too tightly - when baking, the cookies rise and grow in size. Place the baking sheet in an oven preheated to 200 ° C. Bake until golden brown. Remove cookies from baking sheet, refrigerate and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
