Salad is a dish that no festive dinner can do without. Russian salad will decorate any menu. In addition to not quite ordinary ingredients, the salad is dressed with an interesting sauce that has a spicy, pungent taste.
Ingredients for the salad:
- Meat - 150 g;
- Potatoes - 5 pcs;
- Egg - 2 pcs;
- Large apple - 1 piece;
- Tomatoes - 2 pcs;
- Pickled cucumbers - 2 pcs;
- Dill and parsley;
- Salt (to taste).
Ingredients for the sauce:
- Mustard - 1 tsp;
- Horseradish - 30 g;
- Sour cream - ½ cup;
- Vinegar - 2 tablespoons;
Preparation:
- The longest cooking time is required for meat, so it should be cooked first. Rinse a piece of meat and boil in salted water to taste, the cooking time depends on the type of meat (pork and beef are cooked for about an hour - one and a half, chicken - 40 minutes). Any meat is suitable for this salad, but it is better to take pork. Cut the boiled meat into cubes.
- Then thoroughly wash and boil the potatoes. After the potatoes are cooked, peel them off and chop them into small cubes.
- Wash the apple, peel and core and chop into cubes. Also finely chop one pickled cucumber, the second will come in handy later.
- Now the sauce should be prepared. To prepare it, you need to wash one small horseradish root and grind it in a meat grinder or in a food processor, if there is no equipment at hand, then grate it. However, you can take a ready-made horseradish snack, it is sold in the store. Mix grated horseradish (1 tablespoon) with half a glass of sour cream in a bowl. Add mustard and vinegar to the mixture.
- Mix all the chopped salad ingredients thoroughly and pour over the sauce.
- Put the prepared salad in a dish and decorate. For decoration, you need tomatoes, an egg, the remaining cucumber and herbs. Eggs must be boiled and cut into slices. Wash and chop the tomatoes. Cut the pickled cucumber into shavings. Sprinkle the garnished salad with chopped herbs.
