A simple recipe for delicious baked goods is of great value. Having in your arsenal several simple options, you can always please your loved ones with a pleasant dessert.
To prepare the dough you will need:
- 2 cups of flour;
- 1 glass of honey;
- half a glass of sugar;
- 2 eggs;
- 1 tablespoon butter
- half a teaspoon of baking soda;
- some table vinegar (to extinguish the soda).
According to their own preferences, each culinary specialist can add cinnamon, crushed nuts, sunflower seeds or cloves to taste.
Instructions
The first things to do is to mix sugar and melted honey in a separate container (it is desirable that the sugar is completely dissolved); and in the still not cooled mixture, stirring it continuously, gradually add all the flour. Honey to a semi-liquid consistency melts well in the microwave or in a water bath.
Leave the resulting dough at room temperature until it cools completely (you should not cool the dough - this will complicate its further preparation; it is better to place it in a container with a leaky lid so that it does not dry out while cooling down), then break it up and stir in him eggs.
Add soda to the dough, after extinguishing it with table vinegar. After that, the dough must be kneaded especially carefully so that the soda is distributed in it as evenly as possible. This is a very important stage, since it depends on whether the gingerbread cut from the dough will rise evenly during baking. When adding baking soda, make sure that there are no lumps in it.
Knead the mixture well until smooth (there should be no irregularities, irregularities, lumps or inclusions on the cut). This will take some time.
Add melted butter to the dough (it should not be too hot; it is enough if it is warm). At this stage, you can add (optional) a small amount of chopped nuts, cinnamon and / or cloves to the dough. Any flavoring or aromatic additives combined with the taste and smell of honey are allowed (to taste).
Next, roll out the resulting dough to a half-centimeter thickness, cut out gingerbread cookies of any configuration with molds (or just a glass and a knife) and put them on a cold baking sheet, previously greased with vegetable oil.
Gingerbread should be baked in the oven at a temperature of 200-220C for about 10 minutes. As a result, the dough should brown and acquire a pleasant golden hue. We must try not to overexpose the gingerbread cookies in the oven, otherwise they can become tough.
Before serving, ready-made honey cakes should be cooled at room temperature. After that, you can (optionally) decorate them with glaze, fondant or decorative powder; or simply sprinkle with powdered sugar.
