Pork ribs fall into the category of inexpensive, affordable meat on the bone. They are fried, stewed, baked in the oven. It is quite difficult to surprise with this dish. However, when cooked using all three methods, seasoned with aromatic spices and a unique combination of honey sweetness and vinegar sourness, the dish is fantastically aromatic.

It is necessary

  • - 2 kg. pork ribs;
  • - 1 ginger root;
  • - 1 chili pepper;
  • - 2 teaspoons of Sichuan pepper;
  • - 8 star anise stars;
  • - 6 tablespoons of honey;
  • - 200 ml. soy sauce;
  • - 4 tablespoons of rice vinegar;
  • - 500 ml. chicken broth;
  • - olive oil;
  • - salt and pepper to taste;
  • - frying pan with high edges;
  • - culinary tongs.

Instructions

Step 1

Turn on the oven to preheat to 180 degrees.

Step 2

Season the pork ribs with salt and pepper, rub in thoroughly. It is recommended to cut the rib tape into separate pieces. This makes the ribs easier to cook and easier to eat.

Step 3

Light the hotplate and place the roasting pan to heat. The baking sheet should have high edges. If this is not at hand, then use a deep frying pan, which is also intended for baking. Add some olive oil to a baking sheet (skillet).

Step 4

Make sure the baking sheet (pan) is hot enough and begin to brown the pork ribs for about 2-3 minutes on each side. Use cooking tongs to turn over. While the ribs are cooking, cut the ginger into thin slices and place on top of the ribs. The thinner the ginger is cut, the more flavorful the dish will be.

Step 5

Cut the chili peppers into small pieces and add to the ribs. Add the Sichuan pepper, star anise there and pour the honey over the ribs. Continue cooking until the honey begins to caramelize.

Step 6

Pour in the soy sauce, rice vinegar, and chicken broth. Bring everything to a boil and simmer for 7-10 minutes.

Step 7

Place a baking sheet (skillet) in a preheated oven for 30 minutes, then turn the ribs over and bake for another 30 minutes.

Step 8

Remove the baking sheet (skillet) from the oven, put it back on the fire and heat the marinade thoroughly for 5-8 minutes, until it is thick enough.

Step 9

Place the ribs on a plate and serve.
