Beer-based yeast is considered the healthiest and easiest to prepare. To make them, take a bowl and pour 200 grams of warm, but not hot, water into it. Dilute a glass of flour in it and let it brew for 6 hours. After that, add one tablespoon of sugar and one glass of beer to the flour mass. Stir all this thoroughly and put in a warm place. As soon as the mixture begins to bubble, transfer the yeast to a jar, cover with a plastic lid and store in the refrigerator.
Step 2
To make potato yeast, take two potato tubers, peel and grate into a bowl on a fine grater. Add one tablespoon of sugar, one teaspoon of salt, and a tablespoon of water. Stir all ingredients and let sit for 12 hours. At the end of the term, the yeast will be ready to eat.
Step 3
To make hop yeast, place one part dry hops in a saucepan and cover it with two parts hot water. Bring to a boil and cook until the water volume is halved. Stir from time to time. Strain the resulting broth through cheesecloth folded in three layers. Dissolve one tablespoon of sugar in one glass of broth and pour into a bowl. Stir constantly, add 125 grams of flour. Cover the bowl with a towel and heat for two days. Pour the prepared yeast into jars, close the lids as tightly as possible and store in the refrigerator.
Step 4
Another method of making yeast at home is as follows. Take 200 grams of raisins and wash them in warm water. Pour a liter of milk into a two-liter bottle and add raisins. Add warm water to the very neck of the bottle, add two tablespoons of granulated sugar. Wrap the neck of the bottle with 4-layer gauze. After 5 days, the yeast will be ready to eat.
