It is necessary

  • - a bottle of cognac;
  • - wineglass.

Instructions

Step 1

The most popular brands of Armenian cognac: Nairi (aged 20 years), Ararat, Otborny (this is the firstborn of Armenian cognacs), Akhtamar, Noy Vlastin, Hayk, Yubileiny and Prazdnichny … Among the producers of Armenian brandy, one can distinguish the Yerevan Brandy Factory, the Great Valley Company and the Yerevan Brandy and Wine Factory.

Step 2

All Armenian cognacs are classified as vintage and ordinary. The following spirits are considered ordinary: "three stars" (prepared using three-year-old alcohols), "four stars" (alcohol exposure for at least four years) and "five stars" (five-year-old alcohol). Vintage Armenian cognacs: aged cognac (KV) from spirits aged 6-7 years, aged high quality cognac (KVVK) from alcohol aged 8-10 years, old cognac (KS) using ten-year-old alcohol, very old cognac (OS) and collectible.

Step 3

You can make sure that this is really Armenian cognac in the store. Real Armenian cognac, made at the Yerevan Brandy Factory, is bottled in branded bottles of dark green color. In this case, the glass must be free of defects and inclusions.

Step 4

Pay attention to the cork: the bottle cap should be golden. It must have the manufacturer's logo on it, and on top of it - another transparent logo with a protective hologram. Turn the bottle over: the inscription “ArArAt” should be embossed on the bottom.

Step 5

Look at the top label: it should indicate the name of the cognac and its aging, and above it with indelible paint there is a computer overlay, which indicates the date of the drink's spill and the first three letters of its name.

Step 6

Move your gaze to the bottom label. It should contain the following information: the inscription “Armenian Cognac”, the company logo, as well as the name of the alcoholic drink in Russian and Armenian. The manufacturer must be indicated under the name - Yerevan Brandy Factory.

Step 7

But that's not all: take a look at the back label. It must contain the following information: a legend that is directly related to this brand of Armenian cognac, its name, manufacturer's address and information about it, as well as a barcode.

Step 8

All ordinary Armenian cognacs produced by Great Valley are bottled in matte bottles. Look at the label: there should be an inscription “Armenian brandy” on it in large letters, next to which the logo of the company - a lioness, should be applied. Pay attention to the counter-label: it must indicate the manufacturer (Great Valley), as well as the exclusive supplier of Armenian elite drinks in Russia - Rusimport Trade House.

Step 9

You can also check the authenticity of the Armenian cognac offered to you during the tasting. Pour cognac into a glass and, slightly tilting this glass, rotate it around its axis. Watch carefully for the traces that this alcohol leaves behind on the walls of the glass.

Step 10

If the drink slowly flows down the walls of the glass, leaving even traces behind, it means that you have a high-quality Armenian brandy in front of you. Traces remaining on the glass for five seconds indicate that the cognac is 5-8 years old. If the traces are visible for 15 seconds, the cognac you purchased is about 20 years old.

Step 11

The aroma of real Armenian cognac is an exquisite range that combines the smell of vanilla, almond and juicy grapes. The taste of this elite drink is slightly tart, but very soft.
