Hummus is the most common cold snack in the Middle East. Try to make it yourself - it's not that difficult, and all the necessary products can be found in the store.
It is necessary
Chickpeas (lamb peas) - 2 cups, tahini (sesame paste) - 4 tbsp. spoons, garlic - 2-3 cloves, cold-pressed olive oil - 100-150 g, juice of half a lemon, ground black pepper - on the tip of a knife, salt to taste
Instructions
Step 1
Chickpeas are very hard peas, so before cooking they need to be soaked in cold water for several hours, and preferably overnight. Then change the water and cook for 2-3 hours until it becomes soft (cooking time depends on the chickpea variety and soaking time).
Step 2
You can cook tahini yourself. Fry sesame seeds and cumin in a skillet, then grind in a coffee grinder. Add a few cloves of garlic, lemon juice and a little olive oil, and blend everything in a blender until a paste-like consistency.
You can buy ready-made tahini at the supermarket.
Step 3
Grind the chickpeas together with the tahini in a blender, adding the broth in which the chickpeas were cooked until a smooth, puree consistency. In the process of cooking, add lemon juice to taste, salt and ground pepper.
Step 4
Put hummus in a bowl or a deep plate, make a depression with a spoon, pour over with olive oil. Put in the refrigerator.
Step 5
Serve with fresh vegetables or meat dishes.
