Very often, many housewives are faced with such an unpleasant phenomenon as bugs in cereals. These small pests are established, in most cases, due to improper storage. You need to get rid of them immediately after detection, otherwise they can not only spoil the food, but also affect your health.
It is necessary
- - a container with warm water;
- - soap;
- - clean sealed jars;
- - garlic;
- - Bay leaf.
Instructions
Step 1
After finding bugs in the cereal, be sure to check the spices, coffee, tea, flour. If you find pests there, immediately throw out the contaminated food, as it will no longer be possible to save them.
Step 2
All other bulk products in which you did not find insects, place them in the freezer for a couple of days, and in winter take them out to the balcony. This procedure is also recommended with cereals just brought from the store.
Step 3
Prepare airtight jars. Wash them with warm water and soap and pat dry. After that, pour the cereals into them, after putting inside the peeled but not chopped clove of garlic, otherwise it will start to rot and the products will absorb the unpleasant odor.
Step 4
Rinse very thoroughly all shelves, crevices and corners in cabinets in which dry food is stored with warm water and baking soda or soap. Then wipe everything down with a mild vinegar solution and wait for the cabinet to ventilate and dry.
Step 5
Arrange dry lavender flowers, bay leaves, or garlic heads on the shelves.
