Oven-baked croutons have a light garlic aroma and are covered with a crispy crust. They can be served to the table as an addition to first courses or used as a separate meal.
It is necessary
- 500 g rye bread;
- 3-4 tablespoons of vegetable oil;
- 2 cloves of garlic.
Instructions
Step 1
Use rye bread for making bread crumbs. Cut it into 2x2 cm cubes and place in a bowl. In a separate container, use a garlic press to chop the garlic and add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
Step 2
Then place the sliced bread and pour a little more oil on top of all the slices, so that the butter is evenly distributed over the bread. Gently stir the entire mass in the container with your hands.
Step 3
If the butter seems to be too little for the bread, then you can also pour 1 teaspoon. Do not add any more, as the croutons should be crispy and not greasy. Leave the prepared bread in a bowl for a few minutes.
Step 4
Turn on the oven and heat it to a maximum temperature of about 220-250 degrees. Spread the bread in a thin layer evenly on a frying surface that has been covered with parchment paper. Open a preheated oven and quickly place a baking sheet in it.
Step 5
Toast the croutons for 5 minutes at maximum temperature. Then turn off the oven, but do not open the cabinet door. Dry the bread until the oven cools completely. With such frying, croutons first acquire a crispy golden crust, and then dry from the inside.
