There are several ways to open a coconut. Some of them may seem more difficult, others are lighter, but they will take more time or patience to implement.

The coconut can be opened without any effort at all. But this is possible only if you originally live in a tropical country or hot sunny weather is established in your latitudes. Just leave the walnut in the sun for several hours, as a result of which the surface of it will turn into small cracks. You just have to insert a knife into the crack and turn. But good weather is not always the case. In this case, an ordinary oven will help to replace the sun. Place the nut on a baking sheet, place it in an oven preheated to 180 ° C and wait 5-7 minutes. The high temperature will cause the shell to crack. You can finish the job, as in the first case, with a knife or hammer.

If you want to get a smooth cut, you can cut the coconut with a regular fine-toothed hand saw. In this case, there is no need to make a cut strictly in the center. It is much more convenient to do this at the top of the nut. Remember, liquid may spill out of the fetus. If you wish to harvest it, be extremely careful when opening the coconut.

The impatient can be advised a quick way to open the shell. Take hammer and screwdriver. Insert a screwdriver into each of the three dark spots at the base of the nut and drive it in with several strokes until you break through the shell and flesh. After opening 2 of the 3 holes, drain the coconut milk, punch the third hole, set the screwdriver aside, and continue to hit the shell with small, short strokes, working in an imaginary line.
