For very long-term storage of carrots in an apartment there is such a method: in the fall, prepared root crops are loaded into a clay solution, creamy in consistency. After that, the carrots coated with clay are taken out of the container, dried in the sun until a crust forms and put into untied plastic bags.

Another effective method of storing carrots in an apartment is as follows: take cardboard boxes with a capacity of at least 10 kg, in which carrot roots are stacked in dense rows. For every 20 carrots, one horseradish rhizome is placed about 30 cm long. The essential oils contained in the horseradish root prevent the formation of mold and mildew. contain substances that have a bactericidal effect. Boxes with carrots and horseradish should be placed in the coldest place in the apartment. Do not keep storage containers open.

Onion husks, which are poured in abundance with carrot root crops, also contributes to a longer storage of this vegetable. The husk must be dry and clean. Storage is carried out in a dark place, because in the light, carrots acquire bitterness.
