August is the time for the accumulation of strength. How to support the body, stock up on nutrients and prevent dehydration in hot weather? Eat plenty of vegetables, fruits and berries and don't miss the opportunity to make preparations for the winter.

If July and early August will be hot, from August 3 to August 16, support the body - carry out cleansing procedures.

Drink water with honey every morning: before going to bed, dilute two-thirds of a teaspoon of honey in 150 ml of pure water. Drink in the morning on an empty stomach. In the afternoon, prepare and drink an infusion of flax seeds or milk with castor oil (add one teaspoon of castor oil to 100 ml of warm milk, shake well and drink before bed).

Down with baking

An abundance of vegetables and fruits in August will allow us to easily get rid of extra pounds. Vegetable stews and sautés are ideal summer meals. You can build up significantly if you exclude bakery products, pasta and cereals from your diet for half a month.

Brine cheese is a good addition to vegetable salads and stews. Remember that tomatoes must be peeled from the peel before heat treatment, as when heated, insoluble compounds are formed in it, which clog the bile ducts.

Stock up on nutrients

Pectin is another useful substance, in addition to vitamins, that berries and fruits contain. Once in the gastrointestinal tract, pectin envelops the walls of the stomach. This prevents toxins from entering the bloodstream, which, in turn, reduces the risk of peptic ulcer disease and protects the walls of the gastrointestinal tract from negative influences.

Apples, plums, currants, pears, gooseberries are the best sources of pectin. Therefore, in order for the family to be provided with pectin all winter, be sure to cook jam. This unjustly forgotten delicacy always goes well with tea, and as a filling for pies. If you cook the jam longer and at the same time reduce the sugar rate (up to 600 g per kilogram of puree), you will get a dense product that can be cut into pieces. Beneficial substances are also well preserved in frozen fruits and berries.

And so that berries (for example, raspberries, mulberries) do not turn into porridge when frozen, they need to be sprinkled with sugar a little. Enjoy biscuits and charlottes with apples, pears, plums. You will get much more benefit from these seasonal fruits than from store-bought cakes.

Grapes will support the heart

The grape season starts after August 15th. Grapes are distinguished not only by their extraordinary taste, but also by their beneficial properties. The heart and liver will receive good support from the substances contained in grapes.

While each variety has its own characteristics, any grape is healthy. Even if you are not complaining about your intestines, not all grape varieties can be eaten with the skin, but only grapes grown in the south.

When it comes to diseases of the cardiovascular system, dark varieties are useful because they contain anthocyanin pigments, which are a catalyst for the antioxidant properties of grapes. However, the darker the berry, the greater the load on the buds. Therefore, it is important to adhere to the golden mean, that is, alternate different varieties.

Herbal tea will quench your thirst

In hot weather, we languish with thirst. And that's okay, because the body needs extra moisture. In the summer, the amount of fluid you drink per day increases. In order not to overload the heart and kidneys, the rate of two liters should be drunk in small doses.

A light green tea with chamomile, lemon balm and mint is a good way to quench your thirst. Just brew so that the astringency is not felt. And if you want to add an exquisite aroma to the drink, complement it with tea rose petals. To relieve stress on critical days, use arnica, motherwort, lavender. Eliminate St. John's wort, as it increases the skin's susceptibility to ultraviolet light.
