Modern cezves are made from different materials and different shapes. Which one should you prefer if you want to become a real coffee lover?

The main criteria for choosing a cezve
The main criteria for choosing a cezve

It is trite, but true: if you want to enjoy the real coffee taste, you will have to buy natural coffee (in beans or ground) and brew it in a good coffee maker or cezve (Turk). But what are the criteria for choosing a good Turk?

Material

The material from which the cezve is made can be different. Stores most often offer Turks made of copper, aluminum or stainless steel, but it is possible to find Turks made of other materials.

It is believed that the copper turkey warms up more evenly, which makes it possible to brew coffee with the most intense and full taste. However, the owners of steel Turks, having got used to their dishes, can use them with equal pleasure. The same applies to aluminum, which have become classics of Soviet history.

Note! The body of the Turk should be made without seams, from a single sheet of metal.

The form

The shape of the cezve must be classic - wide at the bottom and with a narrow "waist". It is in such dishes that the highest quality coffee will be obtained.

Volume

The minimum volume of a turkey, obviously, should be equal to the average volume of a coffee cup, that is, about 100 ml. The maximum is practically unlimited, however, it should be understood that in a large cezve, for example, a liter one, it is difficult to brew delicious coffee for one person. That is why it is better to limit the volume of Turks to 200 - 300 ml, if you choose it for every day, but it is better to save a large container in case of the arrival of guests.

A pen

There is no need to make any special claims to the handle of the Turks. Its main function is to make it possible to remove the dishes when the drink is ready, that is, it must be made of a material with low thermal conductivity and be of sufficient length so as not to burn yourself with hot steam. That is why wooden handles are used in classic Turks.

Helpful hint: if you plan to wash your Turk in the dishwasher, it is better to choose a model with a removable handle.

Classic or modern

If you paid attention to electric Turks and believe that the modern is the best, choose just such a container for brewing coffee. Most of the models have functionality similar to the capabilities of electric kettles - auto shutdown in the absence of water, different heating modes. It should be noted that gourmets do not advise purchasing such a unit, since they consider the taste of the drink that is obtained with its help not ideal.

Note! Most coffee lovers choose the most familiar cezves - with a narrow "waist", copper or aluminum, with a volume of one or two cups.
