    • 1 teaspoon olive oil
    • 1/2 teaspoon olive oil
    • 1 egg white.

    • 1 kg cod fillet;
    • 2 cups of flour;
    • 1 egg;
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1/2 glass of beer
    • 1/2 tablespoon salt
    • 5 glasses of vegetable oil;
    • 4 large potatoes.

Step 1

Defrost the cod fillet beforehand by moving it from the freezer to the refrigerator overnight.

Step 2

Fish in Polish

Dry defrosted cod fillets with paper towels, sprinkle with lemon juice and leave for 15-20 minutes. During this time, boil and cool chicken eggs. Pour water into a deep frying pan and bring it to a boil, add salt, pepper, bay leaf. Add the cod fillet and boil for 20-25 minutes over medium heat. Place the fillets on plates, cover and prepare the sauce. Chop the boiled eggs as for a salad. Melt butter in a saucepan, add a few tablespoons of fish broth and lemon juice, put crumbled eggs. Warm up the sauce and pour over the fish fillet. Garnish with chopped dill. Usually fish in Polish is served with mashed potatoes or boiled potatoes, but this dish is tasty even without a side dish.

Baked cod with bread crumbs

Preheat oven to 170 ° C. In a bowl, combine breadcrumbs, parmesan, oregano and basil, add pepper and salt, add olive oil and stir again. Beat the egg white with a broom. Dip each fillet into the whipped egg white, place on a baking sheet, covered with parchment paper. Place a tablespoon of rusks on each fillet in an even layer. Place the cod baking sheet for 10-15 minutes, until the crumbs are golden brown. Serve with lettuce.

The popular old English fish and chips dish is traditionally made with cod.

Peel the potatoes and cut into 1 centimeter slices across the tubers. If the potatoes are not very old, you may not need to peel them off, but just wash them well and cut out the eyes. Soak the potato slices in a bowl of cool water for 30-60 minutes. This is necessary so that the potatoes lose some of the starch and become crispy after cooking. Place the slices on paper towels and pat dry thoroughly. While they are drying, heat 2 cups vegetable oil to 170 ° C in a deep fat fryer or high heavy skillet. Deep-fry the potatoes until golden brown.

Carefully remove all small bones from the thawed cod fillet. Cut the fish lengthwise into strips 2 centimeters wide and 8 inches long. Prepare the batter by mixing the egg and milk, adding flour and then pouring in fresh beer. The batter should be homogeneous and bubbly. Dip fish strips in batter and fry in hot oil until golden brown. Place on paper towels to remove excess oil. Serve the fish and chips with a generous sprinkle of coarse sea salt. Fish and chips are English fast food, so you can't go wrong with serving beer.
