Greek salad has been known for a long time and to very many people in our country. But not everyone knows that in Greece it is called a village salad or horyatiki, as it is prepared from vegetables, olives and the traditional feta cheese, similar to the cheese known to the Russian people. Cheese is prepared by almost every family in the Greek villages, as is the cultivation of vegetables.

To prepare it, you will need the following ingredients (weight is indicated on net):

  1. fresh tomatoes - 290 g;
  2. fresh cucumbers - 120 g;
  3. sweet yellow pepper - 120 g;
  4. feta cheese or feta cheese - 250 g;
  5. leaf salad - 30 g;
  6. lettuce red onion - 80 g;
  7. olives or olives - 110 g;
  8. olive oil - 100 g.

Vegetables: Wash tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers, peel, remove unused portions and cut into large cubes. Squeeze olives or olives gently from the brine in which they were and cut into large rings. Combine vegetables and olives (olives) and pour generously with olive oil. Mix everything thoroughly.

The feta cheese or feta cheese should be divided into 2 parts. Grind one part very hard and add to the salad. Mix thoroughly, the appearance of the salad should be such as if it is seasoned with sour cream. Cut the rest of the feta into large cubes and set aside.

Divide the lettuce leaves into 2 parts: put the beautiful ones aside, and roll the smaller and uneven ones into a tube and cut them. Add to vegetables.

They also do the same with onions: they are divided into 2 parts. One part needs to be cut into small cubes and added to the salad. And the other - in thin half-rings or rings.

Mix the salad with new ingredients (cheese, onions and salad greens) thoroughly. On a portioned plate, beautifully lay out large leaves of greens, lay a salad on them, decorate with rings of red onion and cubes of feta cheese.
