The Greek dish "Kleftiko" has an interesting history of its origin. Its name literally translates as "stolen meat". The so-called lamb recipe was invented during the war. They dug a hole in the ground, covered it with coal, salt, meat and herbs, and covered it with a layer of clay on top. The meat reached readiness without attracting too much attention and it was impossible to guess about its theft.
It is necessary
- - 1 kg of lamb
- - dry white wine
- - wine vinegar
- - honey
- - oregano
- - salt
- - ground black pepper
- - 4 tomatoes
- - 3 sweet peppers
Instructions
Step 1
Mix the wine with vinegar, one tablespoon of honey, black pepper, origano and salt. Mix all ingredients thoroughly into a homogeneous mass. Cut the meat into large pieces and cover with the cooked marinade.
Step 2
