Fruit is an excellent source of vitamins and various other nutrients. You can eat them not only fresh or canned, but also dried. But how do you dry the fruit properly?
Instructions
Step 1
Choose slightly unripe fruit for drying. Take ripe berries, but strong, they can be dried with or without seeds. You can dry fruits and berries both in the sun and in the oven. Currants, strawberries, wild strawberries, blueberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, viburnum, cranberries and rose hips are dried from berries. From fruits - grapes, apples, pears, peaches, apricots, plums, cherries, figs.
Step 2
Pay special attention to the temperature regime, for each type of fruit it has its own. The quality of the final product depends on the temperature. First, the fruits must be dried (45-50 degrees C), then the bulk of the water must be evaporated from them (about 70 degrees), and then the humidity must be brought to 20-25% and sterilized (about 80 degrees).
Step 3
If you are going to dry fruits in the sun, then preliminarily keep them in the shade for 3-4 hours. Keep fruits away from direct sunlight, place them in a well-ventilated place. In this way, the fruit will dry for several weeks. The fruits can not only be laid out on grates or horizontal surfaces, they can also be strung on strings and hung.
Step 4
If you dry vegetables in the oven or drying cabinet, open the door frequently or keep it ajar to reduce the humidity inside. Watch the temperature carefully.
Step 5
Dry small fruits whole (for example, if you make raisins or dried apricots), peel large fruits and cut into slices or rings. Cut fruits with a large stone in the middle in half.
