The brazier, which is made on the basis of brickwork, is not only reliable, but also beautiful. Collected at a summer cottage, such a grill will serve its owners for a long time.

How to assemble a brazier

It is necessary

Brick, cement, boards, sand, reinforcing mesh, roofing material, plastic wrap, stainless steel sheet, waterproof varnish, cast iron grating

Instructions

Step 1

First, calculate the individual dimensions of the future structure. The height of the brazier should be appropriate for your height. As a rule, the height of the barbecue should be approximately at waist level. It is important that you do not get burned by reaching out or, conversely, bending over strongly when frying kebabs. The optimum brazier length is 1 meter. This is enough to place about 10 skewers on it. No more need, since you can not keep track of the kebab during the cooking process. To maintain the optimum temperature, do not make the barbecue more than 1 brick deep.

Step 2

Now choose a place to place the brick barbecue. To protect it from water, place the grill under a canopy. Many build it in a gazebo. It looks very nice. In addition, make sure that in the future, the smell and soot from the barbecue does not penetrate into the living space.

Step 3

Now proceed to the foundation. To do this, dig a pit 160 * 80 * 60 centimeters, cover it with a layer of sand 10-15 centimeters and make formwork from the boards. To provide the necessary strength, use a reinforcing mesh with cells of 15 * 15 centimeters, in two layers. Pour in cement, level the surface and leave the foundation for about a week. Then prepare the waterproofing for the barbecue, for this use roofing felt or thick plastic wrap. After that, start laying the walls. Use only heat-resistant bricks and the same mortar for laying.

Step 4

Perform brickwork as follows: put a row of 6 bricks in 2 rows around the corner, then make continuous rows of brickwork, as a rule, these are 3 rows. In the last 3 rows, lay a sheet of stainless steel, on which the firewood will then be located. Leave gaps between the wall and the plate to provide air draft.

Step 5

Sand the brickwork and cover with an acrylic waterproof varnish, and tile the horizontal surface.

Step 6

This is the easiest way to build a brick barbecue. Optionally, you can place a cast iron grate on it and use it as an oven for cooking.
