Alcohol addictions of many Russians have remained unchanged for centuries - of all spirits, they still prefer vodka. Its composition remains unchanged - water and ethyl alcohol, but its cost is very different. Therefore, the bulk of drinkers prefer to buy the cheapest alcohol, because the effect is the same. But despite the fact that both cheap and expensive alcohol is unhealthy, cheap alcohol still poses a great danger.

Where does cheap alcohol come from?

It's no secret that the cost of vodka is several times lower than the cost indicated on the price tags. Excise taxes, transportation and marketing costs account for the lion's share of its price. Only by eliminating the excise and marketing component can the selling price of the same vodka be reduced at least twice.

Such simple arithmetic pushes some businessmen to the decision to produce or import illegal alcohol at low prices. Illegal circulation of cheap alcoholic beverages consists of beverages imported from adjacent territories, illegal workshops located in the home region, and homemade strong drinks - moonshine and chacha. Their low price makes them certainly attractive to consumers.

Despite the titanic efforts demonstrated by law enforcement agencies, today cheap alcohol can be freely purchased both in large stores and in stalls and pavilions selling alcohol "from under the floor." Those interested can even order it in batches using the phones, which can be easily found among the numerous ads on social networks.

Why is cheap alcohol harmful?

We must start with the popular wisdom that it is not alcohol that is harmful, but its quantity. If a person can buy one bottle of expensive alcohol or three bottles of cheap alcohol for the same money, he will, of course, choose the latter. Moreover, if in the first case, he would have limited himself to one bottle, in the second he will most likely drink all three. But the main harm from alcohol is precisely its excessive use.

In addition, despite the almost identical composition, the quality of alcohol purification in expensive drinks is still much higher. As a rule, it undergoes multiple cleaning, as a result of which the level of methanol or ethanol is reduced and harmful fusel oils are removed, which give a specific taste to cheap alcohol and have the most detrimental effect on the liver. The consequences of consuming expensive alcohol also exist, but they are still less painful. It is also highly probable that ethyl alcohol in cheap alcohol can be replaced by technical analogues.

As a result of the consumption of low-quality cheap alcohol, not only the liver suffers, the consequences of this can be the most unpredictable - it is good if the matter is limited only to food poisoning, but deaths are not uncommon. The body is simply not able to withstand the shock doses of the poison.
