Kvass has long been famous in Russia. It quenches thirst, increases appetite, and has a tonic effect. One more wonderful remedy has also been noticed: those who often use kvass are not attracted to alcoholic beverages.
It is necessary
- - 2 kg of black bread;
- - 50 g of yeast;
- - 2 tablespoons of wheat flour;
- - 2-4 raisins;
- - 30 g mint leaves;
- - 400 g of sugar.
Instructions
Step 1
To get started, take 2 kg of black bread, cut into small slices and dry in the oven. Black bread croutons should be poured with 12 liters of boiling water, after 10-12 hours, drain. Then 50 g of yeast and 2 tablespoons of wheat flour, mix together with the bread mixture, put in a warm place and let rise.
Step 2
Brew 30 g of mint leaves into the mixture with breadcrumbs, boil and then add 400 g of sugar. After the yeast comes up, pour it into the rusk mixture, add the mint and sugar, stir, cover with a napkin, remove to a warm place and hold there until a thick foam forms on top.
Step 3
Then collect it and strain the liquid through cheesecloth and pour into bottles without filling them to the top. You can put 2-4 washed and dried raisins in each bottle. Close bottles tightly with corks or caps and refrigerate. After 12 hours, homemade kvass will become a ready-made soft drink.
