Instructions

Step 1

If you prefer a French press or have a geyser coffee maker, you need a coarse or coarse grind. In this case, the coffee beans appear crushed rather than ground. The time required for extraction (i.e. the process during which coffee particles release useful microelements, give aroma and taste to water) is the longest - from 6 to 10 minutes. Coarse coffee is almost impossible to buy at retail, since its production is completely unprofitable. The same quantity of medium-ground coffee beans produces much more.

Step 2

If you have not yet decided on your preferred type of coffee, it is recommended to use medium-ground coffee for experimenting. In appearance, it resembles rather fine sand. Medium ground coffee is considered versatile and optimal. In fact, it is suitable for most types of coffee preparation. It takes 3 to 6 minutes to extract medium ground coffee. There are two other types of medium grind - medium fine and medium coarse.

Step 3

Fine or fine grinding will work for you if you prefer to brew coffee in espresso machines, drip or cone coffee makers. This type of grind resembles very fine sand. Extraction takes place from 25 seconds to 3 minutes, it depends on the method of preparation of the drink. Extraction is very active, as a result, the drink can be noticeably bitter, this should be taken into account if you do not like strong bitter coffee too much. A fine grind can significantly clog some types of coffee makers, especially if they are not intended for use.

Step 4

The espresso fine grind was invented especially for espresso machines. Most often, it can be obtained using the coffee grinder built into the corresponding coffee machine. Grinding espresso in a short time, while a stream of water under high pressure passes through the layer of coffee, has time to give aroma and taste to the drink.

Step 5

If you do not like coffee brewed in coffee makers and coffee machines, and prefer to brew this drink on your own in a cezve, an extra fine grind is for you. It resembles powder or premium flour. The extraction takes place almost instantly, the drink is quickly brewed, and the taste and aroma are revealed almost instantly.

Step 6

Please note that ground coffee loses its aroma very quickly, so it is advisable to grind a small amount of beans each time, which is enough to make a serving of the drink. It should be noted that most of the fragrant essential oils evaporate after 10-15 minutes, so the grains need to be ground immediately before preparing the drink.
