If you're looking for an uncomplicated lunch or dinner option for the whole family, try the Georgian-style potatoes and meat. Thanks to roasting and an abundance of spices, the meat turns out to be incredibly tasty, and the potatoes are very aromatic.

It is necessary

  • - meat (it is better to take pork) - 0.5 kg;
  • - potatoes - 1 kg;
  • - onions - 2 pcs.;
  • - garlic - 3 cloves;
  • - sunflower oil - 50 ml;
  • - ground dried coriander - 0.5 tsp;
  • - hops-suneli - 0.5 tsp;
  • - nutmeg - 0.5 tsp;
  • - red bell pepper - 0.5 tsp;
  • - red chili pepper - 1 pc. (optional);
  • - salt;
  • - assorted fresh herbs to taste (for example, cilantro, parsley, dill, rosemary);
  • - deep frying pan.

Instructions

Step 1

Rinse the meat under running water, pat dry with paper towels and cut into small pieces. Then put them in a bowl, add ground coriander, suneli hops and bell peppers.

Step 2

Peel the onions and garlic. Chop the onion in half rings and chop the garlic in thin circles. Cut the chili into slices. After that, add all the chopped ingredients to the bowl to the meat and mix well. Then cover the cup with its contents with a lid or cling film and leave to marinate for 2 hours.

When the time is up, take a deep skillet and heat it up properly. Then pour in sunflower oil, heat and lay out the meat. Fry it at maximum temperature for 10 minutes until golden brown.

In the meantime, peel the potatoes and divide each tuber into 6-8 parts. Add the potatoes to the sautéed meat and cook for another 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Finally, add salt to taste and nutmeg. Combine fresh herbs in one bunch, tied with a thread, and put on top. Then reduce the temperature to a low setting, cover the pan with a lid and cook for 40 minutes.

When the Georgian-style potatoes with meat are ready, remove the pan from the stove. Leave the food to steep for 5-7 minutes, and then arrange it in portions and serve.
