Delicious fruit mousse makes a great dessert or a stand-alone dish. The word "mousse" itself, translated from French, means "foam", so fruits or berries are whipped with a culinary whisk or blender. To fix the delicate consistency, semolina or gelatin are used.

It is necessary

    • For 1 serving:
    • 50 g minced fruit or fruit puree
    • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
    • 1 tablespoon cream
    • 1 tablespoon semolina
    • 0.5 cups water

Instructions

Step 1

Rinse fruit thoroughly, remove pits and skins. To make the fruit mousse, you will need to puree the selected fruits. Dip the fruit in hot water and cook until soft. After that, drain the water from under the fruit into a separate saucepan, and rub the fruit through a sieve.

Step 2

Bring the water in which the fruit was cooked to a boil and add the semolina. Fruit mousse is a delicate, airy dish, and you need to achieve lightness and uniformity in all the ingredients. Remember that semolina quickly curls up into lumps, so pour the cereal in a thin stream, stirring constantly. Boil the resulting "semolina" for about 15 minutes. Then add granulated sugar and bring to a boil again. Then the mass must be set aside from the fire. In some cases, a gelatin solution is used for fixing. As a result, the dish acquires bright colors and translucency.

Step 3

Having cooled your fruit mousse to room temperature, we proceed to the most important moment - creating a delicious fruit foam. Pour the fruit puree into the prepared mass and beat with a blender until smooth. Then add the cream and whisk your fruit mousse again until it doubles in volume. Let us remind ourselves that experienced chefs, when whipping dishes, place the container with the mixture in the cold, usually ice. Dip the pot in a bowl of cold water.

Step 4

Before placing the mousse on the portioned bowls, moisten the inside with water. On top, the dessert can be garnished with chopped fruits or berries. As a rule, to fix the consistency, the fruit mousse is placed in the refrigerator for a while.

This dish is very tasty and healthy, as it contains both vitamins and dairy products. Fruit mousse is perfect as a treat for both adults and young children. You can treat your baby with mousse already from a year.
