In sandwiches for a festive table, not only taste is important, but also their design. Therefore, it is worth decorating the Treat in an original way. Or even put sandwiches in a snack cake.
Festive sandwiches with crab sticks
Ingredients:
- any white bread (fresh) - 7-8 slices;
- eggs (pre-cooked) - 2 medium;
- processed cheese - 1 pc.;
- garlic, mayonnaise - to taste;
- crab sticks (chilled) - 4-5 pcs.;
- canned corn and fresh parsley leaves - optional.
Preparation:
Place the cheese in the freezer for about a quarter of an hour. Immediately after removing from the cold, grind it with a medium or coarse grater. In this case, you need to try not to heat the cheese in your hand, otherwise rubbing it will be very difficult. Also grind pre-cooked and already cooled eggs. Not only chicken, but also quail are suitable. True, the number of the latter will have to be significantly increased.
Mash the garlic cloves. Their quantity is determined by taste. In order not to make the appetizer spicy, it will be enough to use 1-2 fresh cloves. Dry garlic can also be used.
Combine all prepared components. Pour in mayonnaise. If necessary, season the mass with salt, but the usual last is enough in the store sauce.
Crab sticks are best taken chilled, they retain their juiciness better. Peel the product from films, cut into neat slices obliquely.
Parsley is an optional ingredient. If you plan to use it, the leaves should be finely chopped.
Cut out neat circles, squares, hearts from slices of bread with a culinary ring or cookie cutters. You can choose any arbitrary shape. Curly sandwiches always look especially appetizing and attractive at the festive table (as opposed to standard bread slices).
Cover the bread with the cheese and garlic mixture. Spread it over the base with a fairly thick layer. Sprinkle pieces of crab sticks on top. Optionally - also grains of sweet canned corn. Decorate the treat with parsley and treat the guests right away. You can be original and, for example, distribute the pieces of crab sticks, corn kernels and greens in the form of flowers. Then the snack prepared at home will turn out not only tasty, but also beautiful.
"Ladybugs" with red fish
Ingredients:
- sliced loaf - whole;
- slightly salted red fish - 200-300 g;
- butter - ½ package;
- cherry - by the number of sandwiches;
- pitted olives - a handful;
- parsley greens - a small bunch.
Preparation:
Carefully cut the slightly salted fish off the skin with a sharp knife. Select the bones remaining after processing it. Cut the fillet into slices. The thicker the pieces and the more fish there will be on the sandwiches, the tastier they will be.
Soften the butter until it smudges easily. Cover the pieces of loaf with it, previously cut in half. Place 1-2 pieces of fish on each part. For such a recipe, salmon, and trout, and salmon are suitable. In order to save money, you can even pickle pink salmon yourself.
Cut the cherry in half. If you have free time, you can also make an imitation of beetle wings with a knife. To do this, carefully cut one edge not completely and slightly open the halves.
Halve the olives. Each part of them will become the head of an appetizing beetle. The remaining olives must be very finely chopped. The dark pieces will mimic ladybug specks.
Rinse the parsley. Separate individual leaves and be the first to place them on top of the bread, butter and fish. Next - distribute the cherry and olives over half, depicting a ladybug. Scatter "specks" on the tomato. The easiest way to paint the eyes of beetles is with mayonnaise. But you can skip this step. Ladybugs already look very funny and realistic. Red poppies appetizer
Ingredients:
- toast white bread or baguette - 10-12 pieces;
- smoked salmon or trout - 180-200 g;
- high fat butter - half a standard pack;
- black caviar - 6-8 tbsp. l;
- miniature pickled cucumbers - 3-4 pcs.;
- any red berries (cranberries, currants) - a handful;
- green onions - a few feathers.
Preparation:
Mix the softened butter with half of the caviar. In order to save money, you can use an imitation of the last of the tinted fish broth with gelatin. Spread slices of bread with the resulting composition.
Cut the fish into flower petals. 4 pcs. lay on the edge of each slice, imitating an opened bud. Distribute the remaining black caviar in the middle of the "flowers".
Make "stems" from the feathers of green onions. Cut "leaves" from cucumber plates. All that remains is to put the ready-made homemade sandwiches on a large, beautiful platter and garnish with fresh / frozen red berries. Flowers can be “painted” to your liking. For example, use red and green bell peppers, curly parsley, and other similar ingredients.
Eggplant sandwiches
Ingredients:
- black or white fresh bread - 4 slices;
- eggplant - 1 medium;
- butter fat - 60 g;
- egg - 1 pc.;
- water - 1 tbsp. l.;
- cheese and salt to taste;
- garlic - 1 slice;
- cherry, fresh parsley - for serving.
Preparation:
Cut the washed eggplant lengthwise into thin slices. They should be the same size as bread slices. Sprinkle vegetable plates with coarse salt (you can use sea salt). Leave in this form for 7-8 minutes. During this time, the vegetables will let in a lot of bitter juice, which must be drained and rinsed off the pieces.
Squeeze the excess liquid off the eggplant plates. Fry them in melted butter for a couple of minutes on each side until browned.
Beat the egg separately with a spoonful of water. In the resulting mixture, dip each piece of bread in turn. Fry them in the fat remaining from the eggplant until a golden, appetizing crust.
Put the bread on a large plate. Cover each piece with a plate of eggplant. Chop the cheese, mix with mashed garlic. Spread the resulting mass over the vegetable. Send the snack in the microwave for about half a minute. During this time, the cheese just has to melt.
Serve warm sandwiches, garnish with miniature tomatoes and herbs if desired. The main secret of such a dish is that none of the guests will guess that there is not a single meat ingredient in the appetizer. Eggplant creates an unusual flavoring effect. It seems that pork was used in the preparation of the dish.
Sandwich cake
Ingredients:
- dark toast bread (you can take grain) - 16 slices;
- tuna in its own juice (canned food) - 130-150 g;
- slightly salted salmon - 180-200 g;
- fresh cucumbers - 2 medium;
- creamy soft cheese without additives - 180-200 g;
- cream cheese with chili pepper - 180-200 g;
- mayonnaise - ½ tbsp.;
- dill and parsley - a couple of branches;
- pitted olives - 5-6 pcs.
Preparation:
Finely chop the dill and combine with cream cheese. Mix the two components well.
Cut off the crusts from each slice of toast bread. Give the foundations any convenient shape - rectangles or squares. Place the first four pieces of bread into any suitable container. Coat it with a thin layer of mayonnaise.
Drain all liquid from canned fish. Mash the remaining product with a fork and mix with a large spoonful of mayonnaise. Salt to taste. Spread over the first layer of bread.
Cover the next "cake" (also of four pieces) with spicy cream cheese with chili pepper. It is advisable to make the layer thicker so that it is clearly felt in the treat. Cover this "cream" with thin slices of red fish and fresh cucumber. Make a mayonnaise mesh on top of the vegetable plates.
Repeat the bread layer. Spread it with cream cheese and herbs. Place the remaining fish on top. Close everything with the remaining bread.
The top and sides of the cake can be coated with both mayonnaise and the remaining cheese. It remains to decorate the treat as you wish. To do this, you can use thin slices of olives, parsley, leftover red fish and fresh cucumbers. Whole compositions and holiday inscriptions from fresh / canned vegetables look great on a snack.
Send the container with the finished dish to a cool place. Let it brew for at least 3 hours. It's great if there is an opportunity to prepare such a snack cake in the evening on the eve of the celebration. Then, overnight, the bread will be saturated with mayonnaise, cheese and turn into a delicate base, reminiscent of homemade unsweetened cakes. It will be difficult for guests to guess what this unusual appetizer is made of.
This simple step-by-step recipe will make it quick and easy to prepare a very original dish. If the birthday boy does not like sweets, he can even become a substitute for the usual creamy birthday cake.
Canapes with cheese and bacon
Ingredients:
- boiled smoked bacon - 70-80 g;
- soft cream cheese with any additives - 70-80 g;
- white bread - 150 g;
- fresh garlic - a couple of cloves;
- quail eggs - 4 pcs.;
- fresh dill and sunflower oil to taste.
Preparation:
Any cream cheese will do. You can take its version with additives in the form of garlic or herbs. Even soft feta will do.
Boil quail eggs in advance until they are firm. Peel, cut into circles.
Chop the bread into thin slices of any desired shape. It is convenient to use large cookie cutters for cutting. To make the sandwiches tastier in the end, you should cut off the crusts from the bread in advance.
Heat any vegetable oil in a skillet with a thick bottom. Pour large pieces of garlic into it. Fry until the latter gives off its delicious aroma to the oil. Next, discard the garlic, and brown the bread with the remaining fat. You should have slightly crunchy croutons.
Send the selected cream cheese to a small bowl. Add washed and dried dill there. Even if greens are already present in the cheese, this step should not be skipped. Fresh dill will give a snack much more flavor and aroma than a food additive. Mix the ingredients well with a wide spoon.
Cut the bacon into pieces. If desired, it can also be lightly browned with the remaining fat. Or even make the slices crispy. But this is not necessarily an action, it is allowed and leaves the meat soft.
Cover the slightly cooled browned bread slices with a thick layer of cheese mass with "green tea". Roll up pieces of bacon and place on top. Spread the pieces of eggs last on the sandwiches. Fasten all the resulting structures with toothpicks. For a festive table, you can also use skewers with original tops.
Arrange the ready-made canapes on a nice flat and wide plate. Decorate them to your liking and put them on the table right away. It is delicious to taste them both cold and slightly warmed up in the microwave.
